It's got "ramshackley charm" - sunsets, volleyball, kids building sand castles, all accompanied by a set-list of beachy cover-band greatest hits. Eating a chili cheese dog and sipping cold draft beer from a plastic cup is seldom as enjoyable as it is on this stretch of Sunset Beach. The house corned beef and brisket make for laudably tasty sandwich innards; the half-pound burger is juicy and nicely seasoned. The menu leans much more heavily to meaty barbecue than seafood.
Caddy's has an awesomely spring-break-style carnival atmosphere -- DJs, volleyball, an upstairs deck -- and yet, for some reason, it still feels a little hidden. Maybe that's because people spill out from the bar all over the beach.
Catch breathtaking sunsets from the deck, where spectacular views of the shore are always on tap. Daily live music keeps the atmosphere hoppin'. Open seven days a week, this is a non-stop party day and night.
Reviews:
Wonderful! $5.00 parking and that again as a credit in the bar/ restaurant. Tip the cabana person and get lounge chairs at ocean side and bring drinks there. Food is priced fairly ( don't understand the $$ pricing). Good service, free band, what more can u ask 4? Kim S. St Petersburg, FL
My friends and I came here on a Friday afternoon and we had a BLAST!! The beach was beautiful, the water was warm and the drinks were stiff!! I will never forget this beach and I can't wait to come back!! Brianna B. San Francisco, CA
I like to come here and sit on the upper deck and watch the world go by. No food is allowed upstairs, which makes it relatively bug & bird free. No kids allowed upstairs either and that's always a plus for me. I think the service is better up there too. Drinks are plentiful and priced reasonably. I think we had 4 coronas, 3 margaritas, a rum runner & a strawberry daiquiri for $50, including the tip.
I've never had the food, but it smells good! Maybe I'll make it early enough to try the breakfast someday. Mary R. Tampa, FL
Caddy's is THE spot for breakfast on the beach. Our group ordered a western omelet (great!), the scallop-cake-eggs-benedict (excellent! and a steal at $12. Totally unique so had to order, and was well worth it), the corned beef hash (good but just know that it's corned beef and potatoes, not regular corned beef hash), a couple bloody mary's and a couple mimosas (all good). Joe S. Tampa, FL
Unbeatable location, they have a private beach so you can buy their beers and walk 70 feet to the water. Seems like it would be a great spot for sunset too. Note that they charge $5 per car for parking, but will take it off your bill at the restaurant. And also note you can't bring coolers to their beach, but the bar is right there with reasonably priced drinks. Can't ask for much more. Ryan M. Arlington, VA
It sits directly on the beach. I mean you can sit at a table with your toes in the sand...how much better can it get? Food is good. Bands are usually good too. A very enjoyable time at a beautiful beach. Robin L. Clearwater, FL
